“Let it Go” Full Movie Lyrics – Includes New Verse

let it go elsa throw gloveWith Demi Lovato’s version of “Let it Go” at our fingertips, it has left many people asking “How different is this going to be from the version that Idina Menzel will sing in the movie?” Well, as a Rotoscopers exclusive, we have the whole lyrics here!

Some of these lyrics had been posted before, but this version is the final, full version and includes a never-before-heard verse!

“Let it Go” – Original music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.

The snow glows white on the mountain tonight
Not a footprint to be seen
A kingdom of  isolation and  it looks like I’m the queen
The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside
Couldn’t keep it in, heaven knows I tried

Don’t let them in, don’t let them see
Be the good girl you always have to be
Conceal, don’t feel, don’t let them know
Well now they know

Let it go, let it go
Can’t hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door
I don’t care what they’re going to say
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway.

It’s funny how some distance
Makes everything seems small
And the fears that once controlled me
Can’t get to me at all

Up here in the cold thin air I finally can breathe
I know I’ve left a life behind but I’m too relieved to grieve!

It’s time to see what I can do
To test the limits and break through
No right, no wrong, no rules for me,
I’m free

Let it go, let it go
I am one with the wind and sky
Let it go, let it go,
You’ll never see me cry
Here I stand and Here I’ll stay
Let the storm rage on…

My power flurries through the air into the ground
My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around
And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast
I’m never going back
The past is in the past

Let  it go, let  it go
And I’ll rise like the break of dawn
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone
Here  I stand  in the light of day
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway!

On a personal note, this song holds a very special place in my heart. We heard it at Destination D in August of 2012 and I had it in my mind for months! Then was just to excited about it that I went ahead and sang the little bit of what I could remember because I wanted other people to be that excited as well! You can see that video here. That was February and now we’re here! Even more excited than ever! If you thought what we’ve done in the past was cool… just wait!

Keep checking back for more posts and ride the Frozen wave!

Frozen hits theatres November 27, 2014.

Some of the rhymes seem a bit “lazy” (sky – cry) – but they did not use the obvious “go” – “snow”, for which I´m deeply grateful… 🙂

    • Braden

Yes the lyrics may seem a little more…simple, but that doesn’t make the song bad in my opinion. There are actually some clever lyrics in here and the chorus is sung beautifully and powerfully. Another simple song I can think of off the top of my head is I See the Light, and I actually really like that song, however I still think the Frozen soundtrack will be that much better than Tangled’s.

      • Not Without

This songwriting team is certainly capable of the very complex, but it seems this song is mean’t to be an anthem. Plot-wise it’s a turning point for the character, she has literally just let go and started singing about it. It shouldn’t be complex.

They aren’t shying away from musicals either, every other song I’ve heard is very very Broadway. Let this power ballad be a power ballad. If John Lasseter near tears says it’s good,it’s probably worth a second listen.

        • Kathy Palsen

Extremely Broadway, since Elsa’s voice, Idina Menzel, is Elphaba from Wicked. 🙂

          • Scizzy

As well as Maureen from Rent. 🙂

    • Rarity Herzes

Hey, well it’s not so easy to make up a song that sounds good.

    • Liliana

Hay I thought that movie was joyful but you think it is lazy and just because they use sky ,cry,go,snow,. Well you should of loved that movie the way the kids loved and like for loving that movie thank for reading this message to you

  • This movie BETTER be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, Original Score, AND Original Song.

    • Fadi Antwan

I really hope Pixar doesn’t win this time. Monsters University was OKAY, but it definitely doesn’t deserve an Oscar. I think this year has been very mediocre in terms of animation so far. Only the Croods was really good in my opinion. Frozen has a good chance of getting an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature if it turns out good.

      • I haven’t seen “Monsters University” yet and actually didn’t like “The Croods”.

        • Fadi Antwan

Why? I thought it was very unique and fun, even emotional at the end!

          • The film was pretty much a “road trip” movie in my opinion…it was the family going on a journey to the mountain while learning about each other, and I don’t really like road trip movies. I wasn’t too fond of some of the voice acting. I felt like there were a lot of filler scenes.

I do think the animation was very good though, not “Rise of the Guardians” level, but still commendable.

          • Fadi Antwan

Oh, I see. I like road trip movie. Haha.

        • swagg

          shut up uu dick

      • Aliscen Khaw

i’m torn between frozen and the wind is rising, cause it was hayao miyazaki’s last 2D film to be nominated for an academy awardT.T, but frozen is awesome too….torn….argh….

  • Ariel

November 27th can’t come soon enough!

  • MovieMan995

    Something that came to mind.

Remember back in October 2010 when we first heard “I See The Light” from Tangled off Disney’s Oscar site? Well, Disney is about to post their site for the upcoming ceremony, and “Let It Go” is a FYC choice. Is it possible that we could very well get Idina’s version very soon? 😀

  • Haley

This movie is very good, and I love this song. While it’s true, the lyrics aren’t that complex, it’s still very well put together in my opinion.

Now if only we could add Jack Frost in here somewhere…

  • Linda Indriani

thank you very much for posting

  • GirlyGirl

I love the song but I like the way it is sang by Demi Lovato on Disney channel its now really confusing because there is no video with the new version and I don’t know the Tune! Sorry but I like the other version waaaay BETTER! but I don’t want to be rude.:)

  • victory

So who os the original singer?? Demi or idina?? Which is the reprised version???

    • virgin

      demi is the original singer

      • J

Demi Lovato covered Idina Menzel’s song. They made this song for Idina and Demi simply covered it for commercial reasons

  • Kathy Palsen

I don’t know why they bothered to have Demi sing a version that lacks the power and heart of Idina’s version. Then again, I have wondered why Disney thinks we need remakes ever since the Aladdin soundtrack. Character voices are better. And Idina is fantastic! Even the lyrics are better as Idina sings them

  • Camilla

I’m going to the movies this holiday season to see the film, I can not wait,
I hear Let It Go all the time

  • William, the Illuminatr

Hey I would you feel if Elsa was a boy singing the song, and like “his” voice was just as powerful, masculine of course but able to hit the high notes.

  • Jen Eleponga

i hope there’s sequel to this animation.. i want elsa’s story.. how did she get her powers, where did it came from and a great love story for her..

  • Michael Shaeffer

This song is really good. I especially like the film version.

  • Goldberg

No lazy or simple lyrics here. Perfectly depicts the characters emotion. Try describing the movies story line better, A kingdom of isolation, crystallizes like an icy blast. Truly gripping and emotion driven, driven to tears according to movie and soundtrack fans alike.

  • Micayla

I love these lyrics and the video

  • shelby

I Like The Song but there are two songs for let it go,one from deim lovato and the other one is from frozen I was covused!

  • mysterious

  • JerryJ

For all saying the lyrics are simple, it’s really a window to how simple you are. Genius is in the creation, a moron lives in the critique. Plus, if you’ve never written a song, please do not comment, you have no idea what it takes to write a song, let alone a musical masterpiece like “Let it Go” from Frozen. The song is magical, it is not simple, it’s just simply wonderful and will go down in the annals of songs from musicals, as one of the best of all time.
