Most The Legend of Korra superfans know by now that the new season will air on Nickelodeon on September 13th, and we can’t stop gushing about it.

So far we know that Book 2 will begin a couple of months after the end of Book 1’s timeline, and now, thanks to The Art of Animation, we have trailer #2 showing some more of what we can expect this season.

This trailer is a deep contrast to the first trailer we saw originally out of Comic-Con. It is obviously much more kid-friendly which makes sense when you consider the fact that this trailer was meant as a TV spot on their all-kid network. That being said, this new trailer adds to what we saw initially, actually giving us a little bit more context to what we were watching…although the images from the first trailer speak for themselves.

Now, this trailer has been floating around on the Nickelodeon channel for a while, but any chance to talk speculation about the new season is a great thing. So here are a couple of things we can talk about:

1.) Korra finally goes into the Avatar State! This is a huge deal, as that has been her largest struggle while being the Avatar. It also is the biggest thing that separates her from Aang, as she has been able to excel in most of her bending, but when it came to her connection to the spiritual world, she has tended to come up short. Now, what does this mean for the series especially since this seems to be the biggest theme?

2.) Korra goes into the Spirit World!! This is probably the most important part, especially when we take a look at the first trailer. We see the first Avatar, and it looks like we’ll be finding out a lot more from him, then we did about Aang last season.

3.) Mako and Korra seem to be having a thing…maybe not an official thing, but a thing nonetheless…but this begs the question, what about Asami? She left her father for the cause of all benders (though she is not a bender herself), probably mostly because she loves Mako, but now that he is realizing how awesome Korra is, will she betray them? Draaama.

Well, there is plenty more to talk about, especially when we consider the first trailer, but for now, let’s sit and talk about these things, as the countdown begins! 18 days left!!
