Croods-Poster-NewThis Thursday, as a bit of cross-promotion between Fox and DreamWorks Animation’s new film The Croods, the American Idol Season 12 Top 10 took the stage to perform a new original song from the film. The song titled “Shine Your Way” is originally performed by Owl City and Yuna and will be featured in the film’s soundtrack.

Check out the Top 10 debut the new song below!

I personally think it’s a fun, feel good, catchy song and has a lot of tribal elements which I love. This isn’t the first time Fox has used their #1 show, American Idol to promote an animated film, they’ve previously done so for movies like Horton Hears a Who! and Ice Age 4.

A bonus? We get to see some new scenes from the movie and I think the animation looks really good! Consider me excited!

Dreamworks’ first major animated film of the year, The Croods hits theaters March 22. Stay tuned for our review!
