It is with utter sadness that we announce the passing of the prolific voice actress, Russi Taylor. Russi Taylor (1944-2019) started her voice acting career in the early 1980s. Some of the animated characters she voiced over the years include Strawberry Shortcake, Pebbles Flintstone, and Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Webby in the Disney series, DuckTales (1987-1990), as well as the theatrical film, DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp.

But her most famous role, by far, would be that of Disney’s Minnie Mouse from around 1986 until her death. Prior to her, the character was voiced by Ruth Clifford, Marcellite Garner, and even Walt Disney himself!

Russi Taylor voiced Minnie Mouse in Disney shorts (Runaway Brain, Get a Horse!), theatrical films (Who Framed Roger Rabbit), direct-to-video features (Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas, Mickey’s Magical Christmas: Snowed in at the House of Mouse, Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas, Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers), television series (Mickey Mouse Works, House of Mouse, Minnie’s Bow-Toons, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Mickey and the Roadster Racers, Mickey Mouse), video games (Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts II), and theme park attractions (Mickey’s PhilharMagic).

She was married to fellow voice actor, Wayne Allwine, for 18 years until his death in 2009. What made this marriage even more adorable was the fact that he was the official voice of Mickey Mouse at the time!

Russi Taylor’s passing is a loss to all of us in the animation and Disney communities, but more so for her family and friends. Our thoughts and condolences are with them at this time and she will surely be missed!
