I especially appreciate the comparisons to past Disney Broadway soundtracks, which add depth and perspective to your opinion. Personally, I don’t mind that the musical’s soundtrack plays it pretty safe and close to the book, and I’m looking forward to hearing both the songs that are new and those that are repeats. I haven’t seen any stage versions of Frozen, so I don’t feel the story has been overdone yet at all. Granted, if I had seen the other versions and absorbed more of the merchandising overload, I might feel somewhat differently.
(Also, I just read your review of Frozen Fever, and I really liked that too! I agree the short works very well for what it is, but we’re going to need more than that same formula dragged out over 90 minutes for a full-length sequel.)

As someone who has seen the musical I dont think it is more noise. Both Hans and Kristoff’s characters get fleshed out and Monster adds a lot to Elsa’s character. I do agree that hygee doesn’t work but I agree with Tony Awards who just nominated Frozen, it’s an outstanding musical
