I was afraid to jump into such a big film franchise and thought I might be bored starting with a solo outing like one of the Iron Man, Thor, or Captain America movies. In hindsight, this movie almost had *too* much going on for a first-timer with no previous Guardians knowledge, but I’m still glad it was my first MCU film because it convinced me that I *had* to watch the rest. The character dynamics and the fantastic humor were definitely highlights for me. The soundtrack was very unique and really set the tone for this film; I will never hear some of those 70s songs the same way again, and I wouldn’t want to. 🙂 And of course the visuals were great, and the story – although a bit confusing for me at first, having the DVD skip a little probably didn’t help matters – was solid. I’ve seen nearly every installment in the MCU to date, and this is definitely one of my favorites (perhaps even a top-five).
