I second this. "Rebels" starts off more goofy but it matures over time. Time is the key; it gives us the chance to gradually become more invested in the characters' growth, rooting for them to overcome their obstacles. The creator of "Rebels" doesn't waste time creating plots that go nowhere; in "Rebels", even a filler episode or a small detail will matter later on. And if you don't know much about "how the Force works" then the show delves into different aspects of that too.

"Clone Wars" animated series was also fantastic for setting up Anakin Skywalker's tragedy in a way that the prequels attempted but didn't succeed.

Haley, I recommend looking online for fan lists of the best story arcs of both shows. It took me three times to watch "Clone Wars" and that's the way I got hooked into it.

I loved Rebels. This might be a little interesting to see how this one turns out! Too bad the Rebels characters won't be back but maybe as recurring stars.

I haven't fully checked out the other spin off series', only a few eps to see what it was like, despite it being needlessly detailed and complicated (probably cuz I chose random eps from both...) they seemed really cool animated wise!
