There’s a short documentary about this film and the creator Lotte Reiniger.
It’s called “Lotte that Silhouette Girl”.
There doing screenings right now around the country. VOD later I think.

I saw this on YouTube a couple of years ago, and I frequently had to pause the film so that I could type the text on the dialogue cards into Google Translate to translate it from the original German.

While I’m a die-hard hand-drawn animation lover, I feel that silhouette animation deserves more appreciation. So, having reviewed THE ADVENTURES OF PRINCE ACHMED, I hope that you’ll also review Michel Ocelot’s TALES OF THE NIGHT (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tales_of_the_Night_(2011_film)).

I watched this movie with my brother last year. It still manages to be impressive all these years later, with a gorgeous visual style and a fantasy tale that allows for a lot of creativity.
