I enjoyed the Lorax so I can’t really see your nitpicking.

I usually wait until I actually see the actual movie before I assume anything.

Oh please you wouldn’t be comparing him to Gru if this wasn’t being made by Illumination. When I saw the trailer I was reminded of how the Grinch acted in the Chuck Jones “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” cartoon so meh. But hey Im not biased against Ilumination . I think they do great work just like Disney and Dreamworks.

Look at the Lorax, the only redeeming qualities of it were the parts of the original story (which I didn’t care for anyway) everything else was fish dancing with minion noises and a generic CEO bad-guy plot.
And I compared the Grinch to Gru because he acts almost exactly like him in the trailer and Illumination never feared recycling old ideas, plots. . . . . and character models.

And? Whats the issue with extending the story. Your acting like this is the first animated film to expand from a short story.

Its supposed to be comedic. And since when did Gru became the only animated character to have a daily life. So I guess Aladdin must be copying Gru too since he steals something from the market in a comedic showing his daily life.?

Am having a feeling that to extend a short story into an hour and a half film, Illumination will add in allot of filler (just like Minions 2015). The Tim Curry version added parts focusing on the lead’s crazy performance.
In this case they’ll add “comedic” scenes, where the Grinch does everyday Gru stuff.

The same reason everybody goes to a supermarket. To get food.

He hates the Whos doesn’t mean he’s avoiding them. Since the main part of the story is him stealing christmas presents, trees, and ornaments.

I don’t have a problem with it also. The Grinch hates the Whos so it makes sense that he would steal from them. It makes more sense them him eating garbage like in the live action film.

I liked the Lorax too. Whats with people calling the film a failure? The movie did real good at the boxoffice. So not really a failure. Yeah you don’t like the film fine. But at least get your facts straight.

Whats with the criticism about expanding the story by Dr Seuss because its too short? What about all those Disney fairy tale films. Those stories were short also.

And whats with Rachel Wagner complaining that the Dr Seuss stories shouldn’t be made to 2 hour films because they are short.

Ah so does that mean Fairy Tales shouldn’t be adapted to two hour films also.
