Shorts can be good too. I just feel like they are so many possibilities that Rileys story can go with her emotions. As for Cars 4, I know for a fact that even though Lightning has embarked on a new chapter in life, I don’t think we have seen the last of him or his Radiator Springs family now including Cruz.

I don’t know about Cars 4, but Inside Out 2 might work with a “coming out of age” story similar to Andy in TS3, other than that I think a series of shorts will be more suitable. (similar to cars toons series) that would be amusing and fun and can center about people other than Riley.

The only sequels I want after Incredibles 2 are Cars 4 and Inside Out 2. I do share your doubt of not making 2019 and Pixar taking the year off completely. I did enjoy Brave and Good Dinosaur but would have been a little more. (no humor intended)
