I honestly love most if not practically all the songs from the show thus far!! Definitely feels so epic and my god that Varian song and the reprise to it….PURE GOOOLDDD!! Ahhh I can’t wait to see what they have for the next season I’M SO HOOKED TO THIS SHOW!! :DDD

I happen to be a big fan of the series, mostly due to its faithfulness to the events of the original film, and expanding on it organically. It certainly does a better job at that than other Disney animated TV series (THE LION GUARD and the old 90’s LITTLE MERMAID series leap to mind)…

Anyway, with the exception of “Listen Up,” all of Alan and Glenn’s songs are very well-written and well-performed, with my two favorites being “Wind in My Hair” (reprise included) and “Ready as I’ll Ever Be.” I love the folk rock styling of the songs in the original film, and I’m glad that it’s been carried over into the series.

Somehow, I get the feeling that Alan has really managed to hearken back to his previous Disney work with some of the songs; “I’ll Make You Proud” seems to serve for Varian the same purpose as “Proud of Your Boy” was supposed to serve for Aladdin, and “Ready as I’ll Ever Be” really reminds me of “Savages (Part 2),” from POCAHONTAS.

All in all, TANGLED: THE SERIES is a winner in my book.

Ah, thanks for the article and the news the soundtrack was released! I liked reading your thoughts on the songs. I’m much more enthusiastic (not that you were negative or anything) about the reprise of Wind in My Hair and Listen Up, I think the former is beautiful, and the latter is really fun and witty with music that matches the mood. Eden Espinosa’s singing was the best part of Ready as I’ll Ever Be for me, I love her so much. I love that this series can go toe to toe with other musical animated shows, probably the closest I can think of being Wander over Yonder and MLP Friendship is Magic.
