I have mixed feelings about this, yet I believe Disney buying Fox won’t reduce the number of major studios to 5 instead of 6. But I am also a little worried about what might happen to Fox and its subsidiaries now that Disney owns them.

In reply to Eli Sanza. Let's not get ahead of our selves on what's going to happen with the Disney Fox merger deal. I am worried and cautious about Blue Sky Studios and what Disney is going to do with them but for now let's focus on the good for now.

What made the deal take so long to be finalized is Disney and Fox making plans about “what do we do if the government tries to separate us?”
( Anti-trust law: a company can’t have a monopoly and buy it’s competition).
I don’t think the government will do such thing, because if the deal succeeds the CEO of Disney will extend his contracts till 2021, if the deal fails, Disney CEO will leave Disney and then apply for a presidential run on 2020 (no joke). I don’t think the Trump wants such competition, so the government is unlikely to separate Disney and Fox.

I hope this won’t kill Blue Sky, but also I hope they can keep co-producing with other studios like Fox did for The Book of Life and intended to do for the feature-lenght version of The Dam Keeper.

In reply to Eli Sanza. The Warner Animation Group films are animated by Animal Logic in Australia and Sony Pictures Imageworks in Canada. If they owned Blu Sky they could animated there. I'm not sure it would be advantageous for them. Maybe the animation is cheaper in Australia and Canada.
