In reply to Rachel Wagner. Hey Rachel it's Manny. I rented Captain Underpants last Wednesday off of DVD Netflix. I enjoyed it as much as you did. Humor was a bit off but the animation quality and self awareness were forgiving.

I have to agree Mr. Peabody & Sherman is hilarious, heartwarming and colorfully animated. Not an easy package to find in feature animation nowadays. I’m not really familiar with the original cartoons. But the reinvention aspect in terms of it’s storyline drew me. I wish I had my own time machine like the Wabac. 4/5 stars

Man I remember wanting to see this in theatres but for some reason instead went to see Muppets Most Wanted the last minute (don’t regret it, SO GOOD!!) but having then seen it months later I thought it was pretty cute
But yeah those jokes looking back really are super funny! And helps to have Ty Burrell whom which I LOOOOVE!! Totally think it’s very cute and definitely a fun little time 🙂

I like Mr. Peabody and Sherman and think that it is Minkoff’s best film outside of The Lion King. While I am not familiar with the original series, as a history buff I am able to appreciate the different setting and historical figures. In addition, the humor works most of the time, especially in terms of the wordplay. Finally, the animation is outstanding, which was unexpected considering that DreamWorks comedies are not known for having the best animation. The only thing that I did not like was the slapstick in some of the scenes; it felt out of place most of the time. Overall, though, this is a solid film that is very entertaining.

The jokes/dialogue I found cringe-inducing. The time travel is fun, but the plot line with Penny is a bore. Why are social workers always the villains in kids’ movies? They are trying to help!
