i honestly cannot agree more.

my kids & i have fallen in love with this movie....
my son of 6 years old equally adores ‘The Rise Of The Guardians’ as much as his 12 year old sister!!

i have to admit, it’s a firm favourite of mine too.

it is by far, one of the best animated movies made, not just by DreamWorks Animation but, out of all animation movies made by the various companies out there!

‘Rise Of The Guardians’ deserves to be a far bigger success....

the characters are a little different from the usual, mainstream, generic versions we are all accustomed to watching on-screen or reading about in children’s books.
but, in my opinion, it adds to the magic of the movie!!

brilliant story line & overall plot.
perfectly matched soundtrack & exciting score.

it held everyone’s attention, from the beginning right the way through to the very end- we were glued to the screen with anticipation!

i can’t think of any other movie that can keep my son interested & excited to watch it all, as well be the full focus for my teen daughters time.....

even after numerous occasions of ‘movie nights’ at home, watching ‘Rise Of The Guardians’ it can still have everyone on the sofa for the entire movie!

it is very sad that this is a relatively unknown movie.
i can only wonder if it has anything to do with another ‘guardian’ film of a similar title?
i can personally recall confusion from other parents of a younger kids over these movies & the age rating given.
not everyone was aware there was a family friendly, animated movie, of a shared title??

William Joyce, the Guardians of Childhood author, mentioned back in 2013 that he was in talks with Dreamworks about a sequel, so we know that it didn't fail in the box office that badly that they didn't even discuss it. They did, and we have no idea how that went because after that no one-him, the director, the creators-mentioned it again. If someone asked one of them maybe we would get our answer once and for all.

It failed in the box office because there were so many more popular movies like Twilight and Skyfall that were out that month which were more anticipated. If they moved the movie release earlier or after the holidays maybe it would have made more (although it did make double the budget in box office). It sold millions when it came out on blu-ray, so add that to the money it already made and Dreamworks made nearly as much as they did with some of their other successful movies. The Croods is not as good as Rise of the Guardians which has a better review score. It only made £200 million more BECAUSE they released it at a good time. and that's getting a sequel?

The fact it was supposed to be the first movie of the franchise makes me really sad because I enjoyed it. Yet another of my favourite movies not getting any sort of sequel. Give us a TV show or something!

I actually never seen Rise of the Guardians before due to my unknown history with the source material that inspired it. However I was watching the Disney Santa Clause trilogy on the week before Christmas from Netflix. Santa Clause being part of a legend council with Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny and Jack Frost gave me the idea that it could be similar to how they team up in this movie. Just gave me a curious feeling how come I never watched it before. But I will try and do it sometimes.

I saw this film twice when in came out in theaters. I enjoyed it for its visual and narrative storytelling. This film is what inspired me to want to take writing seriously. Yes, RotG, get me into wanting to become a screenplay writer. But not just any screenplay writer, one for animated films. I can't draw but I still want to be involved with animation and this film taught me that animated characters can be just and compelling and interesting as live-action ones.

The HTTYD franchise will always be my favorite DW's has made, but RotG is a close second.

I was sad that RotG did not become a smash hit when it came out or that DW's has any future plans for it yet, but all in all I am glad that this movie exists. I'm disappointed Guardians was snubbed at the Oscars too but I still love the film and William Joyce and his children for coming up with an amazing concept.

This film helped me believe again. In both the Guardians and in my writing talent. Someday I hope I can create something that inspires another person like this film has done for me.
