I finally saw this in theater. It was very different from the book. It loses some of the details of the book (women being able to somewhat get around if they are carrying a baby, the father being foreign educated and passing the chance to leave Afghanistan before the war, the older sister deciding to get married so she can attend university, etc.), but it gains some great additions too, like the baby eating all the raisins, the girls sneaking into the candy factory, and the whimsical story of the elephant king. I loved the art style of the elephant story so much. I have one question (spoiler warning): Soliman was supposed to get three objects, he got a mirror, a fishing net, and what was the third object?
