Although I enjoyed this Madagascar movie over the original, I thought that the villain, Makunga, was one of the weaker and predictable parts of the film.

I feel this one was the best of the Madagascar movies. The slightly
weird animation from the first movie has been corrected, the plot is
more complex and interesting, and it’s surprisingly more emotional,
while maintaining some good humor, like the plane crash scene. The
third movie had impressive visuals, but the story was a bit too basic.
As for this one, I felt the story and all the themes were balanced well.

I haven’t seen this one in a really long time and kinda forgot a lot of it, but I remember being thoroughly entertained and really liking the animation in this one than the other one..

I think that this film is slightly better than the first, and there are some genuinely funny moments, particularly with the penguins. In addition, the animation has improved, most noticeably during the action-paced scenes. However, the romantic feelings that Melman harbors for Gloria is a major negative for me. In fact, it made me dislike the awkward giraffe throughout this film. Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa may not come close to reaching the heights of DreamWorks’ best films, but it is at least more enjoyable than the original Madagascar.

Was I the only one not so thrilled about the Gloria/Melman relationship they tossed in there? I am not a huge fan of this movie, unfortunately. 🙁
