This is definitely one of my favorite films from DreamWorks animation. It’s just so beautifully done and a ton of fun to watch! Plus, the music in this is just proves once again that Hans Zimmer is a genius! The piece of music entitled, “Oogway Ascends”, is one of my favorite pieces of music written for a movie. Almost 10 years later and it still gives me goosebumps!

I’ve said it before, but I’ll do so again here: for me, the “Kung Fu Panda” series (movies, holiday specials, and TV program) is the crown jewel of Dreamworks Animation, and, by a considerable margin, my favorite thing they’ve ever done. Nothing else even comes close. My only gripe is that the Furious Five don’t get enough to do in the films, although this is remedied in the television show.

“Kung Fu Panda Holiday” is as important a Christmas staple to me as is “Charlie Brown Christmas” and “Prep and Landing.”

I really wish they would release all the episodes on DVD. Perhaps, at some point, that will become a reality.

I was so shocked how much attention this film got back in the day, seeing this advertising I just had no interest in it
But after hearing the great buzz for it and the sequel (which I LOOOOOOVE!!) I saw it and really shocked me how beautiful and really fun it was!! The animation is just a thing of beauty, especially during a specific scene with a certain character, BREATHTAKING!! Definitely deserves all the credit it deserves with what it started :)))

I first saw the trailer on the Shrek 3 DVD and then the movie itself in the winter of 2008.

To say the least, it has consumed my soul ever since.

I think that Kung Fu Panda ranks among DreamWorks Animation’s best films. The comedic aspects of this film are not as strong as the more serious scenes, but the overall product still holds up very well. Jack Black gives a great vocal performance, but the other voice actors are just as strong, particularly Dustin Hoffman. In addition, the animation is excellent, and the score ranks among Hans Zimmer’s and John Powell’s best. I actually think that this film is better than either of the sequels. After two rather weak films, it was refreshing to see an enjoyable story from DreamWorks.

I remember when I first heard of this movie I thought it was stupid sounding. Later when the DVD came out it was playing on the TV in the student store at the college went to. I watched a bit of it and I was hooked. I went out and bought the DVD.

KFP has certainly redefined DreamWorks standards! I love all three in the trilogy equally. Po’s journey over the past decade has provided us with playful humor, astonishing animation, awesome kung fu fighting and of course surprising amount of heart. I even wanted KFP to win the Oscar for Best Animated Feature back in 09 over Wall-E. (no offense intended to my fellow Pixar lovers) If only DreamWorks can always create something as amazing as Po and the Furious Five’s origin story. Just when I originally thought we were in for another one of their usual madcap extravaganzas.
