I've watched the show since the beginning, and I can definitely say that I don't care for the movie, and this can be boiled down to the princesses except Twilight being useless (which Morgan even said). They are minor characters as far as the movie (and the show) is concerned, so this "minor" flaw becomes too distracting when the "most powerful" characters keep getting thrown into the mud. I find it hard to believe that the people working on this incarnation of MLP for some number of years still can't find something for them to do, and what makes this even dumber is that the show keeps praising those other princesses.

Even if I ignore that, I still can't say the movie was impressive. Some of the main characters (Applejack, Fluttershy, and Spike) have nothing to do, a few have moments (Rainbow Dash and Rarity), and Twilight and Pinkie actually get something. But that's just 2 out of who-knows-how-many-characters-total are in the movie. The new ones aren't anything memorable as they leave as quickly as they come. By the way, Celestia knows the hippogriffs, so why didn't Twilight mention that to the hippogriffs/seaponies?

For the villains, Storm King is just there. Tempest is more memorable due to more screentime, and it's another villain with a "tragic" history. She has the best history, but too bad the show doesn't have a good track record with those kinds of villains.

I wonder if I'm being too nitpicky.

Right?! Kind of is. And thank you! It was actually hard to find a good Rarity T-shirt! Thankfully a website called Redbubble had this littler gem! :D
