I don’t think Haggar, Zarkon, or Lotor forget about their relationship at all. They just prefer not to talk about it. For personal reasons, or from creators’ point of view, for keeping an element of surprise to the audience.

From what I recall of Voltron Defender of the Universe and Beast Go Lion, I believe Lotor’s mother was in fact Altean. Based on Beast Go Lion, Haggar is actually Zarkon’s mother and he is her illegitimate son and Lotor kills Haggar (Honerva in BGL) there.
As far as Shiro, since I grew up with DOU Voltron, I’m partial to Keith being leader since that is what I grew up with. However, in the Devil’s Due Voltron Comics, Sven (Shiro here) has some kind of mental imbalance (not sure if that’s the correct word to use) which makes the Blue Lion ultimately reject him since he can be mind controlled by Queen Merla. Maybe this wasn’t an angle Legendary Defender’s writers wanted to pursue so the clone theory is more plausible?
Anyway, I’m happy with the new team set up and their lions. They are now all where they need to be…at least for this 80s Voltron-raised fan. 🙂

We’ve never seen them interact personally before just as Emperor and Chief Druid, I just think she was calling him husband to bring him back through personal desire not that she forgot. That didn’t even cross my mind

Loved this episode too.

But still sad Shiro doesn’t have a lion yet.
I like Allura, I really do. She’s amazing in a fight but I don’t like her as a paladin :/.
Keith, for me is not a leader yet. He’s still a loner and not mature enough. And it pissed me off that the black lion is still with him and not Shiro.

Btw, Matt is going back in season 4!! At least! We surely having more pidge time! But I want Shiro in a lion first :(.
