I’m a lifelong VeggieTales fan/collector, and I just discovered your podcast because of this episode. I gotta say… I love it! This is a great podcast for animation freaks like me, and I look forward to listening to other episodes!

I know one of you said that you’ve never seen Veggie Tales, but can I just say, you owe it yourself, nay, your audience, to at least watch “Larryboy and the Fib from Outer Space”

It’s old, it’s dated, they did the best they could with what they had, but I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Anyway, I’m quite glad to hear that. I’d really like to keep listening as I’ve been doing since the dragons and dinosaurs series. Sometimes I nod when you say something and sometimes I just want to kill someone (I absolutely dislike Frozen, and that oscar to the mediocre Big Hero 6 over four great, vastly superior movies was criminal), but that just proves how into your podcast one can be. I just want to get excited again when you announce an episode dedicated to a movie I love.

Ps.: For example, El Dorado. You better give it high ranks!

No, you don’t need to watch it again, don’t make yourself rewatch something you don’t like. I don’t think you’ll see some new layer or anything, it’s just not to all tastes. It’s super gentle and simple. 🙂 To be honest, I wouldn’t watch it sooner than Spirited Away either.

I was responding in a much too reactionary fashion, the result of being way too big of a big idea and Phil Vischer fan I suppose. That said, I know what it’s like to create regular content and how difficult it can be to find the time to really perfect every little detail. You are entitled to your rants, God knows I’ve gone off the handle after reading the headline of an article only to read the contents thereof and form a very different opinion. I get it. I’m sorry that I was initially so harsh. After another commenter had wise words for me, I’ve listened to some of your other episodes and found them delightful. Worry not, you have a new fan! Keep being awesome and I’m sorry you have to deal with reactionary me!

Ugh, I need to rewatch the film and perhaps give it another pass. I enjoyed it well enough, but there are other Miyazaki films that I much prefer such as Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. :/
