It's weird, the movie started really slow and all the original characters lost their spice... The villains were much more interesting then the main characters which barely got any development other then adding a love interest or wedging conflict into a love interest which is typical. In the end when the bad guys almost won I was actually very happy with that then the good guys broke out in happy song... as much a enjoy dances with water it was a very cliché ending... if I expect a big change and interesting twist from any Disney movie it would be descendants, kinda disappointed it wasn't there buuuuut I enjoyed that plot twist it was confusing and a perfect touch of interesting ? Overall the movie was made well, script was better as it progressed but it definitely seemed rushed. New villains casted excellently

In reply to Haley Gilbertson. Evie is my favorite of the Rotten Four. I'm not sure about more Wicked World but it won't surprise me if we do get more. One minor issue I had at the end was Dizzie being invited to Aurodon. She seems too young to be attending a high school full of her fellow villains sworn enemies especially with the step cousin she never met.

It had some stupidity from the first one and a lot more generic teen movie moments, but that end and Evie’s arc really had me invested in the movie. Personally liking Wicked World A TON MORE, but this was a good movie to move along the story and expanded some arcs of the characters. I am looking a bit forward to what’s to come now with this franchise, hopefully more Wicked World!!

In reply to Rachel Wagner. Don't blame you Rachel. That was even worst than Audry being absent and Chad still being a bit of a jerk. I was even hoping Kristin Chenoweth would be back as previously reported. Nonetheless maybe it was for the best for the VK's to have more of the spotlight thus time around and their parents will return next time.

I was disappointed they got rid of the adult villains. I liked them in the first one. To me this second one was more generic teen movie but I still enjoyed it.

I have to say that Descendants 2 is totally on par with the first movie! The franchise so far has been surprisingly entertaining but will never steal High School Musical’s magic. This sequel delivers the elements that made the original enjoyable except the bits and pieces of nostalgia. It also raises the stakes emotionally especially for Mal as she struggles to let go of being the daughter of the self proclaimed mistress of all evil as well as romances between the VK’s and Aurodon kids. I was on Team Mal from the beginning believing we were in for a worthy battle against different generations of evil offspring. And the fight was well worth the hype. Kudos to Whoopi Goldberg’s voice cameo as Ursula and Lonnies storyline as she helps the Rotten Four fight Uma and her squad. Also did anyone not expect a possible shipping between her and Jay? 4/5 stars
