I agree with you about the skeleton designs. I haven’t been impressed with Pixar’s non-human (or non-alive human) character designs lately, and the skeletons are kind of a culmination of all the things I find boring and unappealing about them. They’re very generically cutesy at the expense of looking interesting, which makes me feel like maybe the artists didn’t put a ton of research into them or play around with enough potential designs before deciding on a final product. And yeah, the eyeballs were a bad call. Empty eye sockets or a glowing pupil would have both looked better than this odd… mask… thing they have going on. Story looks alright though.

I agree Kung Fu Panda can do no wrong. It’s been a great trilogy and I hope DreamWorks continues with the movies. Especially when next year Universal Hollywood will open a new show to celebrate the original’s 10th anniversary and the studio’s welcome to the Universal family.

“Moana” and “Zootopia” are neck-and-neck for me. It’s like 50.5% for “Zootopia” vs. 49.5% for “Moana.” I loved them both, but I gave the slight edge to “Zootopia.”

I also LOVED “Kung Fu Panda 3.” I’ve said it before, but I’ll do so again: Dreamworks could make a hundred “Kung Fu Panda” films, and I would line up to watch them all. For me, that series can do no wrong.

I guess high expectations

So they want us to not be overhyped or having high expectations for there films, the same marketing strategy for inside out. And sony ? Nvrmnd.

Yep. Zootopia was a lot better than trailers suggested. This’ll probably be great.

Now before we all get excited for next week, I would like to say a few words. Cars 3 is not only going to be an emotional third act in the lives of the Radiator Springs gang but as well as a thrilling throwback for some of us here. These past 11 years have been one heck of a roadtrip following this franchise about talking cars which hopefully had something resonant to say. The original film was the first Pixar feature that first came out when I was a teenager. Lightning’s coming of age journey was symbolic as I was reaching a certain stage of life along with Pixar itself. Just as racing isn’t always about the glory, teenage life isn’t all freedom and totally new experiences. Doc’s saying that a trophy is just an empty cup wasn’t just a iconic line but a life lesson some of us took into the world. Proving that awesome stuff like Cars doesn’t come onto different continents every day life ships onto the sea as we all know. I would like to thank everyone at Pixar who put their heart, soul and sense of adventure into the world of Cars. We are forever in debit to them. This may not be the end of an era but the memories will live on.
