First off its CGI not drawn. And if you worked in animation its no where close to being lazy its hard work. If you want this to look like the movie. Than by all means fork over $80 million so that the tv series looks exactly like the movie.

Secondly so what? Is this going to erase that film some how? I never got that angry geek theory where a film is going to disappear because they did a sequel to it. The original will always be there.

And finally the original was a big bomb at the box office. Im happy Dreamworks remembers the film fondly enough that they are willing to do spinoff with it.

After watching first two episodes, I really like this show. I was sure it will be terrible, but after I learned it won’t be a sequel but rather a spin-off and the Spirit on this show is not the same horse but rather the descendant of him, I wanted to give it a chance. I am not disappointed, the writing is pretty good and it has the quality you wouldn’t expect for the children show of this genre.

I had no clue about this prior, but this is a weird choice to turn Spirit into a show like this….
I just find it a bit odd….

In reply to Rachel Wagner. Because DW just had to have another show and somehow, try to tie it in with with an existing movie of theirs. My biggest issue is the sub-par 3D animation.
