I plan on giving it a chance as well.

I didn’t see Planes Fire & Rescue. Other than that, I agree the Cars franchise doesn’t have to live up to Toy Story or the other great Pixar movies to standout in the crowd. I didn’t see Kubo and the Two Strings either but I do plan to rent it.

True nothing much changed since then. So I won’t be surprised if mentioning of the previous installment’s events are kept at a minimum.

Trust me, most of the time I do skip Pixar features in theatres. In the end, I mostly watch them when they are available on DVD Netflix. The last time I saw a Pixar film in theatres was Cars 2 five years ago.

I have to agree it’s more emotional Lightning won’t be getting help from Doc ten years after he made Hudson Hornet a household name again off the track. May Paul Newman rest peacefully

I personally liked Cars 1 more than everyone else. It’s escapist and had a familiar, but good story. However, Cars 2 did suck. Mater was not a good main character and the story was sloppy and all over the place. Sure, if it were made by another studio then it would be ok, but this was a Pixar movie. They have high standards.
