I'm not much a Disney fan to be honest, but Lilo and Stitch is one of the few exceptions. I love both characters and Lilo is so quotable. "My friends need to be punished." is one of my top quotes. People have complained that she is "a spoiled brat" but I think she's one of the most realistic characters Disney has done.

I remained confused by one scene however. Lilo seems to ignore the destruction of her house until it is completely blown up. She is only mildly concerned by the battle inside or by a car being thrown through the walls but is suddenly aghast when it explodes. Or am I remembering that wrong?

Look more like ET?! ET looks like the mascot for a raisin company. Stitch has far more appeal in my opinion.

"Lilo & Stitch" was one of the few Post-Renessiance Disney films I've watched in the theatres. While one film is one I now consider why it's hated by everybody, "Lilo" and another film I'll get to later, I saw 4 times!! I loved the film for combining sci-fi with Hawaiian themes such as the meaning of "ohana" and its civilization (nicely compared to "Whale Rider") and the designs of Stitch, Lilo and the other characters. Even Stitch looked like one of the "Lion King" hyenas and Pleakley looked a bit like Frank, the frilled-neck lizard from "Rescuers Down Under", both films designed by the director Chris Sanders.
If I did have one criticism with "Lilo & Stitch" is that some of the characters can be mean-spirited such as Stitch's first times with Lilo & Nani and Nani's, how could I put it, "irritating" relationship with Stitch. She's kinda like a pushover.
As for its sequels and TV series, I actually liked "Stitch Has A Glitch" better because the quality and animation kinda matched what the original had. And as for the TV series, the quality was meh and Lilo was kinda irritating, but the one thing I can mostly remember about the series was its crossovers with other Disney channel series: The Proud Family, American Dragon Jake Long, Recess and of course, Kim Possible.

Cool. I can see why Dragon would do that for you. I read a lot as well and didnt see that many movies but the ones I saw I loved like Little Mermaid and Home Alone. They were extra special because they were rare

I'm a bit of an oddy because I didn't grow up on animated film, my childhood was mostly spent reading. Seeing How to Train Your Dragon 2 as one of those 1$ summer movie things sparked my love for animation, why that movie, I honestly can't say. In fact I'd seen the first movie prior to watching the second, and now like the first a smidge more. All I can say is that's just how my obsession was born.

Hmmm. Well growing up I loved Sleeping Beauty and then went nuts for Little Mermaid. Then in my 20s I was more of a Pixar fan. I came back to Disney with Tangled which wowed me. In summer 2014 I tore my MCL and was mostly bedridden. This forced me to find a creative goal, so I decided to finally watch and blog about the entire Disney canon. I loved it and loved being a part of the online animation community and have ever since!

That makes sense. Also I was wondering if you knew what happened with the help wanted thing awhile back? Have they already picked the new writers?
