I was born in 99′, so I didn’t grow up on it and I don’t feel really nostalgic towards it. Still, Disney should’ve just left this movie alone. I can’t see how they’ll top it.

You do have a point there. The original JB had more heart and better characters, but I like the new one better because there’s a lot more action, suspense, and conflict. As far as remakes go, I’ll support them as long as the director had a darn good reason why he / she is remaking them. Remaking a movie because “the technology is better” is such a lame excuse. I’m not a massive fan of The Lion King, but it should have stayed untouched. I mean in came out only 22 years ago. Anyway, I’m getting tired of endless remakes and sequels. As you can tell from my profile picture, I liked The Secret Life of Pets. I’m glad there will be a squeal, but I hope Universal doesn’t milk it into an overblown franchise like Minions.

I think you did a good analysis however I personally have always liked 1967 Jungle Book cause of how memorable the characters were and the heart was always there. The new Jungle Book improved different story-wise parts and made an adventure movie. However the movie forgot what made the 1967 version so beloved for so many years. The bonding and friendship between Mowgli & Baloo, the new Jungle Book had no real heart when it came to those characters. Baloo was a con artist and rather weak written character. Mowgli was alright but I actually liked the 1967 Mowgli cause he was very desperate to stay in the jungle and wanted true friends that cared about him instead of using him. I haven’t actually watched Pete’s Dragon or the remake so I can’t say anything about that but I have a feeling that the new has more heart to it. I’m just so freaking tired of these remakes and I know that they won’t end anytime soon which makes me very upset.

Well we never know when that will happen. Also I loved Pebble and the Penguin and I like Shark Tale.

Agreed. It just would have been a little better if they kept the tone steady and gave the title world more screen time.

Tomorrowland had a lot of flaws, especially in the 3rd act, but I liked how original the story was and the fact that they tried being unique.

People were always joking about them making a “live-action” Lion King, and look what happened.
