I love it how you call it a “boy movie”! The other day the subject of “favorite Disney movie” came up at my workplace, and all the guys agreed instantly “yeah, Tarzan! Must be the dreads” lol!

I agree Clayton is a disapointment, he must be related to sir Ratcliff 😉 But you make a really good point, the story stands well and strong without him because the true antagonist is the clash of 2 worlds and the prejudice and hate that comes along (much like Pocahontas, I guess).

They don’t have the rights anymore? I didn’t know that, that’s so sad! D:

That makes sense. It is more effective than Spirit, which is a movie I still enjoy very much but not as much as Tarzan

It would have been neat to see all the songs be done in the traditional musical style. However, I’m glad the Collins approach turned out as well as it did. Some people find that there’s a disconnect and they come off as commercial songs despite having been made for the film, but I felt they gelled convincingly enough and reflected Tarzan’s thoughts in the film. When I think of it not doing it as well, I think of some of Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. Could never really buy those Bryan Adams songs reflecting the thoughts of the protagonist in musical form. 😛

Thank you so much. That really means a lot to me. I think the characters could sing similar to Aladdin or even in Hercules the characters sing most of the songs and not just background songs. I guess it wouldn’t matter if so much of the character development didn’t happen in the songs. Like a lot of Jane’s character development happens in the songs and I think it would mean more if we heard that from her and not someone else. Still, I enjoy the film very much.
