This was the worst movie form the Renaissance era (not counting Rescuers 2). Unfunny slapstick, disjointed story, and the character Mushu was so annoying and out of place.

I think this movie’s overrated. But somewhere in here there is a brilliant movie waiting to get out. If it weren’t for Eddie Murphy, and the movie focused more on the characters and drama. We could have gotten something as good as Beauty and the Beast.

I think this film depends a lot on whether you embrace Mulan as a character, which I do. I don’t think she is just a girl power character. She has vulnerable and fearful moments. I really like the songs and it is an interesting look at Disney gender dynamics to.
