Lilo and Stitch.

Lilo has a ritual to placate an ocean fish she calls Pudge once a week with a peanut butter sandwich. When asked why, she answers, “Pudge controls the weather.” It’s the audience’s introduction to her kooky off-center kid logic.

Later she explains to Stitch that her parents died in a car accident in a rainstorm. The film never explicitly connects the two, and yet, there she is, desperately making a placation into the ocean when first we see her.

So. Pudge controls the weather.

What in Beyoncé are you talking about?

Isn’t all about HOW you do the trope and execute it that matters?

I think they chose a pig and a chicken because they’re fairly common (I’m pretty sure) animals to most islands in oceania so they’re sidekicks that could still keep with the rather vague/vast setting that Moana is in. (hope that made sense)

That’s a fair point, it’s kinda a shame they stuck with the ol’ pig and chicken. And yeah there is a similarity between the two (especially the eyes).

I was so hyped before, but now seeing this new content I was reminded of that fear. Hopefully it doesn’t end up mediocre.
