In reply to lillypad2114. The film was greenlit after the good response The Lego Movie's trailer got back in 2013. Also, the movie is a new take that diverges from the show anyway. So even if you don't like the show or don't watch it there is still something new that you might like.

Spider man, Spider man, does whatever a Spider man can.

But seriously if this movie plays that plot completely straight it’s going to look pretty embarrassing compared to the meta narrative in The Lego Movie that made fun of corporate plots like that.

In reply to Baymax. For clarification's sake, the movie is not related to the TV show. Same characters, same concept even, but it's a different continuity and different universe (LCU) than the TV show.

I personally HATE Ninjago. The plot is boring, the characters are unlikable for me, the humor is annoying, the action scenes are equal to destroying a tower of Lego bricks, I could go on and on about why I hate the show.

But the main thing is that this is the most lazy, lame, effortless cashgrab I’ve ever seen.

I will never get the appeal of this show. I watched it once back when it used to air after defenders of berk, SO glad it moved to Netflix though, and I was just confused. Idk it will make money even if it doesn’t have a good plot or anything and sell A TON of toys just like the Lego movie, infact probably the main reas it was greenlit.

I never actually played Ninjago or watched the Cartoon Network show. However, I am really looking forward to this movie. Two years later, Everything is still AWESOME!
