Oh...and my favorite film of the Second Golden Age is "Sleeping Beauty" because of its stunning visuals from Eyvind Earle and its breath-taking music adapted from Tchaikovsky's ballet of the same name.

While in the "Xerox Age with Walt", I'd have to say a tie between "Sword and the Stone" and "Jungle Book". Because these films really fit well with the 1960's, along with "Mary Poppins" and "101 Dalmatians".

I agree with you on that. While "Cinderella" started the second Golden Age of Disney animation, it kinda ended with "Sleeping Beauty" due to its high cost, mixed reviews and poor box-office performance, as well as the end of hand-inked Disney animation.

Starting with "101 Dalmatians" through "The Jungle Book" after Walt's death, I consider this era the "Xerox Age with Walt" and the time from "Aristocats" through "The Fox and the Hound" as the "Xerox Age without Walt". If you know what I mean....

I'm looking forward for the articles to come on this era! Since I was little I absolutely adored 101 Dalmatians, I'd watch it over and over again. It remained my absolutely favorite Disney movie for years to come, until Tangled came in and robbed its place in my heart. Still, I'd say 101 Dalmatians occupies a respectful 2nd place :)

I myself consider the silver age cut-off with Sleeping Beauty. The end of fairy-tales and the introduction of xerography mark the end of the era. Jungle Book is a stand-out from the following transitory period, much like Lilo & Stitch was a stand-out in its era.

Agreed. The best film is definitely Cinderella. But the most visually stunning film is probably Sleeping Beauty.
Though it's ironic that one saved Disney from bankruptcy, the other almost led Disney to lose all the money.
