I believe that this movie is an allegory to of the superior species and the domesticated, and transforming it into a gradual adventure about the relationship between species.
The meditating scene for example, who knows to our pets that’s what we look like to them.
The relationship between the humans and Aliens is realized into creating peace in order to establish healthy and growing societies within both species.

I have requested Lotte Reigner a million times too! XD
I do hope they release it soon! (fingers crossed!!!)
But ME do a movie about her! I don’t know, I’m just a junior in college XD.
I do love Achmed though, it’s like Aladdin meets Fantasia! 😀

In reply to Jackson Staninger. Cool. Neat to see another person who admires this film. What do you feel like it is mostly trying to say? I have never quite decided. Prince Achmed needs to be on Criterion. I request whenever I can. I think you could make an amazing movie about Lottie Reiniger's life. What a story and artist!

I LOVE This movie so much!!!!!!!!!
But I agree with everyone else that I want to see more criterion Animation, The Adventures of Prince Achmed, All the Satoshi Kon films, even Sita sings the blues if possible!

In reply to Eric Faulkner. It is kind of like the animation in Yellow Submarine. That's a good comparison; although, obviously very different in tone. I would love love love love a Lottie Reiniger Criterion Collection. It seems so perfect for them.

I would love to own a lot more Criterion Collection Blu-Rays. Sadly they are a bit expensive. It would be lovely to have a Lottie Reiniger collection released by them. I have only one of their Blu-Rays though. They do have some great titles and some of them are personal favorite movies. From the screen shots for this it reminds me of Yellow Submarine and The Point. I might check this out if it goes on sale.

In reply to Baymax. I will. I like this a lot better than World of Tomorrow and it's not because of the elementary animation. It's because this has a more clear lesson to learn where I felt World of Tomorrow was trying too hard to be clever and oblique. It was a little too hipster for my taste where this is more upfront with what it's trying to do. As far as it being ugly and toddlerish I guess different art appeals to different people. I will check out that short. Thanks for the tip and comment.

The animation style is so scary, it makes Coraline look like Barney the Dinosaur with Dora thrown in. But this does look like somewhat drew a picture of an Eloi from HG Wells the Time Machine, and then let a toddler with a blue crayon color it in.

By the way, the reason World of Tommorow works is that the simple animation is the polar opposite tone that it’s going for.

But seriously, look up future human on Google. You will either love it, or regret it.
