Actually, I thought that majority of the jokes (along with the slapstick) were pretty funny and weren't tiring at all. I was chuckling and laughing at a majority of the film (even at the lake scene which I found became funnier the longer it was extended and I don't particularly care for low brow humor at all). As for the writing, although it was nothing special or groundbreaking (then again it didn't need to be), it was fine for the movie it was. It had a continuous fast pace throughout although the second act did drag a little bit but it picked up. Like I said before, it's not the best animated movie out there and it's nothing special. It's not a Zootopia or an Inside Out or even exactly a Lego Movie, but with all that said it still is a fun and entertaining movie with some likable characters, mostly funny gags, and great animation nonetheless. Think of the Spongebob Movies, or Despicable Me, or Shrek, or any other B grade animated film it's up there with those. They aren't the best, but are still entertaining joyrides nonetheless. Basically, good and enjoyable films. Storks looks like it could end up with those movies as well and I mean that in a good way.

You might argue that The Angry Birds Movie had that, but it was too mired in tired jokes and underdeveloped writing for that to be a big positive in the movie.

Pretty stoked for all of this! Warner seems to know how to stand out and be different. A lot of new comer studios i've seen already start to shove many tropes and try to make big claims and compare themselves to other winners. I like that warner is instead saying, "nah, were gonna do things our way, and break the boundaries." True, might be just another big claim, but honestly its the best kind of claim you can make, the kind that doesnt ensure being a winner, but being unique ^-^ In short, i look forward to all what warner will have to offer!

I really like how they are saying that their films have a very "Looney Tunes" tone and feel to them and Storks seems to embrace it especially with that description of the Penguin fight scene which sounds like something straight out of Looney Tunes and the concept and look of the film alone. And, from the sound of it, Smallfoot will do the same.

As much as I like animated films like Zootopia or Inside Out that try to be more mature I want see more animated films aim to be more Tex Avery, Chuck Jones, or Hanna-Barbera in terms of style, feel, tone, and humor and be excepted and not ridiculed for being such. The Angry Birds Movie in particular was something that I felt had that style and humor to it that I would see in a Warner Brothers or MGM cartoon with it's well done fast paced slapstick and hilarious verbal humor from the characters.

That's just one of their 10-15 other films in development. Last time we heard anything was late last year, when an executive producer of the show told the press that creator Pendelton Ward is trying to find the right story to tell for the film.
