In reply to The Polish Gent. I actually think Zootopia is better. Mainly because it has a more modern fun and vibrant feel while telling a mature story that can be enjoyed equally by kids and adults.

This was my second favorite Disney film I watched as a kid next to Aladdin, and I still won’t forget the scene of the death of Bambi’s mom in the film.

This along with Zootopia are one of the most mature movies that were made by Disney. While the story itself in Bambi about is straight forward and simple, it’s one that people will have a better understanding as adults since the film’s story devotes itself on the outlook of both the dangers & beauty of “life”.

Plus, a little known fact is that the backgrounds were done by a Chinese artist named Tyrus Wong!

I didn’t see this until I started high school and I really enjoyed it for all the emotions it was able to give me
Definitely a classic of itself as a really great emotional rollercoaster in the best regard ^.^

Eh….I should mention about the original book this movie was based on:
The story of Bambi is actually a Jewish allegory story, and yes, the author of the book, Felix Salten, was actually a Jew. Many people believe, myself included, think that Bambi and his forest friends are symbolized as Jews while the villain, Man, is symbolized as Hitler and the Nazis. In fact, the book was published around the eve of Hitler’s wicked anti-Semitism acts which led to the Holocaust. (No offense to Jews.)

Bambi is a very beautiful film, and I love what they accomplished with the music and animation, but I would be lying if I said this wasn’t a challenge to sit through the entire film, and devote all of my attention to.

This is a film that is cute for kids (and traumatic) but also enjoyable for adults on a deeper level. As an adult I love movies about the life of a character and that’s essentially what you get here with Bambi. We see the highs and lows of growing up and becoming King. The artistry is gorgeous and I love how it uses music as an additional sound effect. I guess the romance for me doesn’t really work and I don’t like the way they kind of forget about the mother. Still, a great film and one of Walt’s crowing achievements.
