(Spoilers) Indeed, but before Gru adopted the girls and got married, he was a supervillian. He could have lied about that.

My standards are all pretty much the same I go in not trying to judge but at the same time I can’t let certain things slide. Just as I don’t love every DreamWorks movie and I don’t love every Disney movie Turbo was absolutely horrid the only thing good about the movie was probably the food that was made by the two brothers running the taco stand. Minions is good as mere Children’s Entertainment it’s not out there to tell a heartfelt story which is what I’ve come to expect from family animation before a kids movie I guess it’s fine. I still think Megamind was way better than Despicable Me In general though

I probably enjoyed Minions sheerly out of the fact that I have very low standards for Illumination Entertainment.
As for Trolls, it could be decent. But considering some of DreamWorks’ previous offerings (I despise Home and Penguins), the studio simply can’t get me excited anymore.

That’s fine if you think that but many will disagree including me. It felt like more of a cash grab than Puss in boots. Also in the first Despicable me movie it says Gru created them, so basically they aren’t even following their own rules.

I feel like I’m the only one who loves it. The wide shot looks pretty unique. In comparison Angry Birds, Secret Life of Pets and Storks are playing it safe with their visuals.

Minions wasn’t a bad movie.

Maybe this will be like Shrek where there’s going to be satire for all the cuteness?
