I think dissecting what doesn’t work could be interesting but I’m fine with their decision. I guess I’m in the minority that enjoyed this movie for what it is. Certainly no masterpiece but I liked it more than I thought I would.

Yeah all fair criticisms. I think the tv series isn’t a bad idea. The movie should have probably been on netflix to begin with or maybe purchased in congruence with the game. But I appreciate they tried something different and for what it was I was entertained by it.

Amen to that! And the Nut Job was way less coherent as to story and setting. Plus it had much more unlikable characters. It’s not a masterpiece by any stretch but just a decent space adventure. You make a good point about the Sonic and Ratchet comparisons. It’s a bit lazy to compare those game properties to each other when as you say they really aren’t similar just because they are both in games. I knew Ratchet and Clank wouldn’t get great reviews but I admit I’m surprised by some of the vitriol. I thought it would be more a 30-40%. Oh well. You can’t win them all and luckily the way they planned out this movie should make it a success or a minimal loss.

I’ve heard the game is great! That’s awesome. I think the movie could have legs on DVD and streaming, which is probably where it should have landed to begin with but I admire their gumption in releasing it to theaters.

Yeah it’s not the most original film but I guess that doesn’t bother me as much as some critics. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Will have to check out those cut scenes.
