In reply to Iftekhar Ahmed. Yeah now that I've read the book it is nothing like the animation aside from names. So I'm interested to see what a more accurate version does.

In reply to Rachel Wagner. One of the criticisms of Disney's iteration of The Jungle Book was that it was too light-hearted, and critics were right. Pinocchio had dark moments despite being a lighter iteration of the original tale. Rudyard Kipling is an amazing author and I believe that Jon Favreau's The Jungle Book captures the essence of what the book represents whilst paying tribute to the 1961 animated feature film!

In reply to Iftekhar Ahmed. Oh not the darkness. They just feel kind of like romance novel covers. Just don't seem Disney to me but I'm so excited for the film especially with the reviews I'm hearing.

In reply to Rachel Wagner. The original tale was a really dark story, I think a little darkness was mandatory to be faithful to the original tale.

I would like to see a more faithful adaptation of The Jungle Book, but I’m fine with this remake. I’m liking what I’m seeing from this.

In reply to Dave 52. I saw in the trailer that he sang a little, but I assumed that would be the most of it. Regardless, this looks a lot better than I thought it would. And I'm interested to see more of the book in the film.

In reply to Ace4671. While this film in particular is darker than the original animated film they are aiming more for the tone of the original while also having some elements from the book as well.. You will hear some classic songs and see some memorable scenes from the original in the film. As a matter of fact they will have Baloo sing a bit of "Bare Necessities" in the film.
