In reply to DoctorCuF. Donald was not a main character in the original series, but he did make some appearances. I can think of one particular episode, it might have been the first episode actually, where Donald joins the Navy and leaves his nephews in the care of Uncle Scrooge.

In reply to DoctorCuF. I think Donald was in the original cartoon. It may just be that we associate Ducktales with its main characters (Scrooge and his nephews).

I grew up watching Ducktales as part of the Disney Afternoon. I was
excited when they decided to do a “Remastered” edition of the NES game,
and even more excited when they announced that the series was going to
be rebooted for TV. I’m excited to see how this turns out and if it
will lead to any other classic Disney cartoon reboots.

I like the new designs they look modern but still have the amazing feel of ducktales, I hope it wouldn’t have a grouse-out humor the new mickey mouse tv show had.

They did bring him back for two recent episodes on Mickey Mouse. But it would be asking quite a lot of a 96-year-old actor (who’s mostly retired) to come back for a full-fledged show.

So yeah, I’d say we’re getting a new voice actor unless officially stated otherwise.

In reply to Jonathan Wilson. Alan Young is 96 Years old. He doesn't quite have the same energy in his voice as when he first voiced Scrooge.I'm afraid I don't expect him to be with us through the whole series.
