With Kion as Donald Trump, he wants to force the muslims (hyenas) out. But when Kion meets Jasiri, a friendly hyena, she says the most hyenas respect The Circle of Life, and Janja’s Clan (Isis) are the mean ones. With Bunga as Obama, he “stinks”. And let’s not forget Timon and Pumbaa who cash out on Bunga in the episode “Bunga the wise”.

I thought Lion Guard was solid and well voiced and animated. The songs I didn’t think were that great and there were a lot of fan service moments. Of course I’m not as protective of Lion King as some people even though I do love it. Lion Guard is definitely geared towards little children but for that demographic I thought it was pretty well done.

I’ve actually been watching the series since its debut, and although this movie was basic exposition and a re-intro to the TLK universe, I can’t bring myself to hate it. The series itself is actually very good, and it’s a shame they don’t put an episode or two on this release. Sure, it could be seen as a retcon to the first TLK sequel, but I’m hoping that future episodes have little hints of when this series takes place in the timeline canon.

But yeah, I was looking forward to this series since its announcement, and other than Bunga’s presence, I wasn’t really too disappointed.
