It looks better than I was expecting. When we saw the poster I thought the designs looked bland, but they actually look better animated. I like the design of the gorilla at 0:12 seconds in. Not too into the american idol jokes, but I’m thinking once we see the motivations of the main characters it could get interesting!

Asides from Zootopia, Cats Don’t Dance is a movie that gets brought up quite frequently in discussions sour rounding Sing.

But to be honest, beyond both movies having antropormorphic animals and being a musical, there’s really nothing else that the two have in common.

Besides, there’s nothing in the early-bird marketing that makes it seem like Sing will have human characters or deal with themes of prejudice.

Thoroughly unimpressed. After years of Glee, American Idol, The Voice, Pitch Perfect, etc. I’m pretty worn out by this concept on television/big screen. It feels like it’ll be wildly predictable and the visual humor wasn’t great.

It also just looks bad in my opinion. It’s in the vein of Illumination’s style which is good but it was their choice to release this trailer so close to Zooptopia, so I’m going to compare to Zooptopia. And, unsurprisingly, Sing just looks awful in that comparison.

This was terrible timing… really terrible timing… The Secret Life Of Pets isn’t even in theaters and they’re starting to show this? There’s potential but I truly feel that it’s animal over-load for audiences (and it doesn’t help that it’s released after Zootopia).

Im just wondering, why are they releasing this the same year as Zootopia. Cause the trailer reminded me of Zootopia not in plot but in animation and world building.
