Everyone’s always criticizing the animation and calling it creepy, but it never came off that way to me, even if the mo-cap does look a bit dated. I think this is a beautiful movie and a lovely story with enchanting music. The first time I saw it was in the IMAX, and that scene with the flying ticket is still one of the most enjoyable uses of 3D I’ve ever seen. That’s coming from someone who usually doesn’t like the 3D gimmick. This movie does somehow conjure up that feeling of believing, in a really nice way.

However, none have ever captured the meaning of Christmas quite like this one has for me. I grew up loving the book, and I traditionally read it and watch the movie every Christmas Eve night. I don’t know why, but the story fills me with emotion and sentiment every time.
