That’s more or less “overplayed.” The extension of the merchandise is a little much, but that doesn’t exactly equal the ratings of the film. Minions had several advertisements and merchandise before being released, but most people thought it was not as good as the Despicable Me films. Frozen and Tangled have very similar ratings, so I wouldn’t call Frozen “overrated.” Let’s face it. If Tangled made as much money as Frozen, and was exploited as much, people would still get annoyed of it eventually.

I always felt that Tangled has a weak plot, a predictable ending and runs out of good songs by halfway through.
Don’t get me wrong, Frozen is fun, but not as original and refreshing as everyone wants to pretend. Of course they were rushed to finish it, so that makes a lot of sense.

Frozen made bazillions of dollars, ran in theaters for something like 6 months and 2 years later the stores are still flooded with Frozen merchandise.

You only hear anything about Tangled anymore from legitimate fans who love the movie.

Well, you have to understand that I was serving a mission for my church from 2008-2010. Tangled came out right after I got home, and I was still trying to get acclimated to being at home. I wasn’t going to a lot of movies during that period 🙂

Actually, Frozen is under-rated. I see more haters of Frozen than lovers just because of its unnecessary over-exposure, and you know what, I blame all those Let It Go covers that flooded the internet during 2014. You could never get away from it… I still love Frozen I just hate Let It Go.

Wow, so you watched Tangled after the world was confirmed for Kingdom Hearts 3? that’s… really surprising. Tangled’s been everywhere for 2010/2011.

To be fair, Frozen is also guilty of some contemporary-sounding material. The instrumentation of “Let It Go” is very, very poppish (so much so that it, as FilmTracks puts it, renders the end title version as a bit redundant), and “Love Is An Open Door” also has a bit of a modern feel to it, although a bit less so compared to Elsa’s number.
