Me too! I think Pixar has already proven that they can do great sequels (even better than the originals, like Toy Story). The fact that they’d wait over 10 years to release a sequel to Nemo goes to show that they’re not doing this for the money grab, but because they have a great idea for the characters we all love. It will pay homage to the nostalgic fans and it will introduce Nemo to a whole new generation! I find that fantastic! And I’m so pumped for this!

You see, that scene worked because it still centered around the premise of “Finding Nemo”. I’m not saying that Finding Dory cannot be emotional, rather, I just think that it’ll be in the lines of Cars 2 and Monsters University in terms of overall appeal. A mediocre story with an ending that’s debateably worth the price of admission.

Maybe. There have definitely been plenty of animated movie spinoffs centering around sidekick characters that have turned out terribly. And there is the risk that this film could end up being something like that (I certainly hope it doesn’t). But one of the things I’ve come to appreciate about Dory is that she isn’t just a sidekick. She, in her hunger for someone who will stick with her and love her for who she is, and in her determination to do the same for Marlin, actually has a surprising amount of depth beneath her crazy exterior (just take this scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXrAYOxfI3A). I think a movie centered around her has some potential. I was certainly surprised when I first heard about this, but I’m going to give it a chance.
