I doubt it’ll happen, but here’s to hoping at least one of those will involve the Overkills from Minions. I would love to see more of them, especially if it’s an origin story.

I feel it’s safe to say Minions 2 is going to take one of those release dates, i can’t see why Illumination wouldn’t release a sequel anytime soon. As for the rest I hope The Grinch is the beginning of a Seuss franchise. Horton (despite being Blue Sky) proved that Seuss’ works work better in animation, and while The Lorax was a bit of a let down, it was still fine.

In reply to brandon. to be perfectly honest, Illumination is getting close box office wise, yes, but unless it can reach to those 3 financially AND critically (which it truly isn't), then we can safely say they're reaching there. we'll see how good Secret Life of Pets is (coz let's face it, a film about cats and dogs is gonna blow up at the box office).

Illumination is certainly starting to close in on the Big 3 (Disney, DreamWorks, and Pixar) territory. We’ll see how they hold up as more competitors step in.

I wouldn’t be too confidant about their upcoming Dr. Seuss films. They made a mess of The Lorax and it’s still their worst film.

Good on Illumination for not just piggybacking on their Despicable Me franchise for future movies. As much as I love Disney Animation and PIXAR, we need diversity in the western animation field in order to broaden animation content for consumers.

PS: for the love of Dr. Seuss, do not butcher his work for the sake of making profit Illumation Studios!
