Other live action Disney films, namely John Carter, Lone Ranger and Tomorrowland, have all tanked and they’re live-action Disney adaptations.

But fairy tales are different and are still making money. Malificient wasn’t a great adaptation and I don’t think audiences will stick around if the quality isn’t there.

All that said and done if they’re good movies I’m all for them because 1. If it’s a good movie that’s good and 2. Disney re-release the original animated film on blu ray with awesome special features.

But none of Disney's Live Action Fairy Tales had been a flop, so I don't think they will stop making them, unless The Jungle Book and Alice 2 both flop next year, maybe they'll reconsider, but anyways if they wait for Beauty and the Beast for 2017, I'm sure that film will make a ton of money.

Hopefully Pan flopping majorly at the box office will either stop the flow of remakes or will at least force the studios to make sure the quality is there

Well this will be interesting
Glenn Close, original Disney cartoon and OUAT’s Cruella were all my favorites but this will be interesting to see how this all turns out

Oh geez, not more of these! I was hoping that this one in particular would silently go away. I wonder whether all of them will even get made before Disney runs this cheesy, gimmicky genre into the ground.

As for the prospect of having to sympathize with a villain who ruthlessly kills puppies (or tries to, anyway), who says that we’d even have to? Like Maleficent, Cruella could be made into the good guy–a misunderstood villain who had been betrayed by puppies when she was a sweet, innocent, beautiful young girl. Yeah, that’s it! Little Ella, as she was then known, loved all animals and they all loved her–she sang with the birds just like Snow White. But then one fateful day as she was skipping happily through her idyllic suburban tract with flowers in her hair, a bright smile on her dimpled face, and flanked by a phalanx of cuddly chipmunks, she was viciously mauled by a pack of dalmatian (known to be one of the more aggressive breeds) puppies, leaving her horribly disfigured and strapped down in the psych ward for 40 years, where she was given a cruel name: Cruella. Her shrink told her that in order to overcome her fear, she would have to face it, but would the dalmatian puppies–the descendants of the very devils who had stolen 40 years of Cruella’s life, allow her to live long enough to find the courage to forgive?

I’m sure that Disney have something like this or equally sickening in mind. 😉
