There’s a music video Don Bluth animated part of, though it came out in 2004. It’s for a song called Mary by the Scissor Sisters. The animated segment is a take on the Rapunzel story.

Let me just add “Strawberry Swing” by Coldplay. Technically I’m not sure if it’s considered animation but it’s still a great music video I think.

“Take On Me” is a personal favorite of mine.

I can’t think of any classic music videos that use animation, but there are a lot of fun recent music videos that use animation in interesting ways:

Arctic Monkeys – “Do I Wanna Know?”
Run the Jewels – “Early”
Kayne West – “Heartless” (rotoscope!)
And of course, any Gorrilaz music video!
