To be sure, there are other sides to the issue, and they’re all equally sordid in their own ways. 😉 For example, there is the illegal wage-fixing conspiracy between several US-based animation studios. The silver lining is that perhaps if it were not for Ed Catmull, Jeffrey Katzenberg, et al. breaking the law, intentionally deceiving their employees, and violating their rights, then they might have already moved all of the jobs elsewhere for “free money” and/or slave wages (relatively speaking) by now.

Not to make too big of a point of this, though, as we’re here primarily to talk about animation itself, I would think–I just wanted to point out why things like this are done for general knowledge and awareness. It’s nothing personal, I guess–it’s just business…and powerful people committing crimes and stealing from taxpayers, etc. 😉

Regardless, it’s good to see the animation industry thriving, at least, and growing in capacity.

If we didn’t live in a world where outsourced production happens all the time, I would be more shocked that stuff like that happens. Honestly, I could care less.
