rbrtck, it definitely wasn’t an issue for properties like Transformers, Captain America, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Thor, Smurfs, and Iron Man, which were clearly not at the height of their popularity or relevance at the time that their first movies were released. My kids still play Angry Birds non-stop (especially Angry Birds 2 which came out a few weeks ago). I think the Angry Birds movie is going to be just fine. 🙂

Harith, if you’re spending your time picking on a movie’s first look stills in comment boards on a website, you should maybe figure out a way to spend your creative energy somewhere more productive… Also you should proof read your comments for typos.

In The Good Dinosaur the reason why the environments are realistic is because in the film nature is the main antagonist. Because of this the environments have to look more real and sometimes threatening than the dinosaurs themselves. Or in this case the main dinosaur Arlo. It’s basically a struggle to survive for him. He basically has to try to survive nature as he makes his way home. I like the style they are going for it’s beautiful, it’s unique, it’s something new from Pixar we have never seen, and it helps sets itself apart from previous dinosaur movies.

What’s wrong with the designs they have for the birds? They basically look exactly or close their video game counterparts only with arms and legs and the visulas and animation already look great. Also, just because it’s Sony that doesn’t mean that they can’t make good film. Hotel Transylvania was good and Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs was also good and they both came from Sony. Another thing too, as a matter of fact two things. One, I’m pretty sure they worked closely with Rovio. Two, who cares if the story of Red, Chuck, and Bomb being misfits isn’t that creative? It’s how they do that sets itself apart from the previous “misfits” plots and at least it’s a different story than the “Pigs stole our eggs now we have to get them back” routine the game had. If The Lego Movie can have a simple plot we’ve seen before and put a new spin on it than Angry Birds can do it too.

we are talking about sony animation (open season, the smurfs) they are not the creators of the lego movie.
