Several things have inspired me to start animating.
For one, Steven Universe. The complicated fusion/weapon summoning/fight sequences mystified me. Another was Tony Crynight, a youtube animator who animates for Five Nights at Freddy's.
I've always loved drawing, but I wanted to bring that stuff to life, give it a heart and a soul.
And that's how I started on "Outta the Night", a fan-made animation for Plants vs Zombies, my all-time favorite game franchise =3
Animating is now absolutely addicting-- I cant go without completing one scene, or at least boarding/writing the next episodes.
Oh, also thank Disney for pushing me into this pit =D
I hope that 2D animation will survive long enough for me to get a full-time job doing it, or at least storyboarding.
I'm also really glad I found this site-- I was REALLY beginning to get worried about how lipsync charts, dope sheets and frame by frame madness were clouding my vision xD

Little Mermaid was the first film I truly loved. I knew all the songs and admired Ariel's free spirit and bold nature. (I was 8 when it came out). Animation was one of the only types of movies I could see (for the most part) without worrying about bad content or offensive things and it was the only musicals being made for years and I love musicals.
Oh and I also loved the Simpsons growing up.

I have always been hooked on animation ever since I was a little kid. I watched a lot of Disney and Non-Disney made movies on VHS tape, on TV, even in movie theaters! I also watched a lot of Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and Disney Channel during their golden eras as well. I still love animation today, even though my Dad says I'm too old for animation. Since every animated film, TV show and short has an audience and fans, I think they should always be preserved for future generations. This is why I decided to become an animation filmmaker when I grow up.

I became an animation addict after I saw How To Train your Dragon 2. yah I know I'm an nooby:P. But after being so taken into the world of animation I just had to know how the DreamWorks crew did it. And that's how I found the Rotoscopers Podcast, then I found the website, and that led to finding out that there are people like me who really are, lets admit it... NERDS!!! I'm still learning about animation but I'd love to one day be working with Pixar or DreamWorks, or Disney. Thanks Rotoscopers you helped me find an new part of myself that I didn't know was there before:D THnx^.^

I watched cartoons shorts and animated features when I was little boy, Fleischer Studios, Disney, Bluth , Warner Bros, Steven Spielberg, Rankin/Bass and Hanna/Barbera., Art Clokey, Will Vinton, Ardman, and others. as I've gotten older I've learned some interesting behind the scenes stuff in documentaries, commentaries, podcasts and articles. I like finding information on obscure films I didn't actually know or didn't know much about. I remember on youtube in 2009 I came arcoss Garrett Gilchrist's restoration of Richard Williams The Thief and the Cobbler Recobbled Cut (mk3 at the time.)the film and it's history I like like this film (the workprint and Garrett's recobbled cut mk4) and also the history is interesting and tragic (and is the topic in the documentary persistence of vision.) other films I like Paul Grimault's The King and The Mockingbird (1980) Pinocchio (1940) Fantasia (1940) Gulliver's Travels (1939) Frozen (2013) Shrek (2001) and Mr. Bug Goes to Town (1941) yep cartoons and animation are still part of my life and one of my dream jobs is to be an independent animator using the three different mediums: stop motion, hand drawn, and cgi thank you :)
