I honestly don’t understand why people are comparing this to the Book of Life just because they both have Dia de Los Muertos as the theme. People are just looking for something to complain about at this point. I mean, we have 627849939 Christmas-themed movies, and nobody’s calling them rip-offs of each other. So why does everyone think two movies based on this holiday makes them copies…? Makes no sense. I don’t think they’ll be anything alike.

Can’t wait to see more about Coco!

Oh ok, didn’t know that about TBOL.

I don’t really have any bad feelings towards them for wanting to “copyright the holiday”. I don’t think they had any bad intentions or fully understood what it was they were doing when that news came out. In the end, they didn’t get to “copyright the holiday”, so all’s well that ends well in my book.

In reply to Iftekhar Ahmed. I have to disagree, Book of Life is about the acceptance, being ok with what you really are and not what others want you to be. The three main characters have things that are expected of them and are pressured about it.

yeah, and you can compare any of the christmas movies, I’ve never said that we can’t have different Day of the dead movies, but releasing a movie that goes about the same subject as other movie that was released just a few years before and not expecting to be compared is a little bit unrealistic.
And pretty sure they gonna change the name once it reach Brazil, I just wanted to point that out =)
